Rest Assured's owner, Kelly Tiberio, had her first experience taking care of someone else’s property over 30 years ago. She worked alongside her newly retired grandmother, Anne, who took up housekeeping and caretaking for elderly retirees. They provided a wide range of services to Anne's clients, from errand and appointment running to house cleaning and hosting luncheons. When her clients went south to escape New York winters, they looked after their homes.

During that time, Kelly learned the ropes of absentee home caretaking. While each property was unique and each client had specific requests, they still shared a universal truth: choosing a home caretaker was a very personal decision for them.

“Property watch” or “home check” were not terms anyone used in the 90s to describe the services Anne and Kelly provided, but that’s precisely what they did—and the foundational requisite for these arrangements was trust.
